Taking it day by day: Overheard

Overheard

So I am sitting reading a novel and this guy behind me starts speaking to a friend who is seated like 3 metres away: "Musa, I am almost lost my wallet imagine".
I shut my book and smiled :-) kaka ongea kiswahili bana - kithungu kigumu mno.

Guy sitting next to me fishes out his mobile phone and goes like: "Hi, I am in Nairobi right now. The next time you send me such a text message, I will come there, tear you and your friend apart. Don't joke with me."
A shiver runs down my spine.

by "tearing you and your friend apart"- did the dude mean he was going to split the two friends up ama tear each one individually? I have translated and still do not know which one he meant.

Is this like "hearing a smell?"

@3TOC - Tearing apart in the sense of "nitakurarua" (either he meant kill those two or beat them up nicely)hehehe hearing the smell is goooood :-)
@3n & 31337- I was aboard a plane heading to MSA. when i heard "i will tear you apart" i just thought "TERRORIST". I almost cancelled my trip. Turns out the dude was kinda high, very friendly.
